Studio Notice: Attendance & Cancellation Policy Update 2026

Dear all,
I hope you are all doing well and have been enjoying your lessons this last term! It’s been a real pleasure working with everyone and seeing the progress and commitment that students bring every week.
To help keep lessons running smoothly for everyone, I’d like to take a moment to clarify the my recently updated Attendance and Cancellation Policy, which comes into effect as of next week (beginning Monday 13 April 2026). Booking a lesson confirms acceptance of this attendance and cancellation policy, so please do take a moment to read through this carefully.
These guidelines are not meant to feel strict, but rather to ensure fairness to help protect the consistency and quality of teaching. Each lesson time is reserved especially for you, and when lessons are missed at short or regular notice, that time cannot easily be offered to another student. Having clear expectations helps me plan effectively, support all students and families fairly, and offer lesson times to students on the waiting list and rota group when needed.
My full Terms & Conditions can be found on the website Studio Policy page.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Weekly Lessons
Students attending weekly lessons are entitled to one free cancellation per term (6 weeks), provided at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
All other scheduled lessons within the term are considered billable from the start of the term, even if missed.
Fortnightly Lessons
Students attending fortnightly lessons are not entitled to free cancellations.
All scheduled lessons within the term are considered billable from the start of the term, even if missed.
Rota Students
Students on a rota schedule may cancel lessons free of charge, provided at least 48 hours’ notice is given.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
Exceptional Circumstances
Additional free cancellations per term may be considered in cases of illness, bereavement, or family emergencies.
Inadmissible reasons for further free cancellations: lack of practise, business meeting, swimming competition, play rehearsal, annual leave, being too busy, doctor’s appointment, similar scheduling conflicts, etc.
Missed Lessons
Missed lessons are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled where possible, subject to teacher availability.
Rescheduling is not guaranteed.
Regular Attendance
While occasional absences are understandable, more than two missed lessons within a term (whether paid or unpaid) may result in your regular lesson time being offered to another student on the waiting list.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Students attending regular weekly or fortnightly lessons must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they cannot attend their lesson.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee will be charged.
For rota students, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
An invoice for each lesson will be sent prior to your lesson, serving as both a reminder and confirmation that the cancellation period has now elapsed.
Missed lessons that cannot be rescheduled are non-refundable.
Thanks for reading and have a great week!
