Happy World Piano Day!
It’s World Piano Day!
I don’t entirely know what this fully entails but it’s nevertheless a lovely opportunity to thank every single one of the fifty odd students who’ve joined me in these last couple of years since I started the business of teaching full time.
You’re all incredible company and your collective commitment to play, to explore, analyze, create, and communicate with the eloquence of a truly expressive musical voice is what gets me up in the morning.
Here’s to witnessing more and more of you make your dreams beautifully audible!
If you’d like to find out more about actual Piano Day (chosen because it’s the 88th day of the year - geddit!?), then you can go to the website here:

Piano Day 2025 - Welcome
“Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But mostly, because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it"
If I could make it to the Erased Tapes Sound Gallery, then I would.
Anyway, here’s a nice time lapse video of Nils Frahm, the man who started it all…
Now go bash some piana…
Happy playing!
