Finals are upon us!
Friends!
We have arrived, the time is nigh, it is friggin ON. You are cordially invited to mosey on down to Fishtown Barcade at 7:30pm for YOUR 2025 Fall Season Philadelphia Pinball Club Finals.
READ ON for the lowdown, as we are positively STACKED with relevant information here, including next season’s dates and an announcement from the commish.
AS FOR FINALS, HERE’S THE DILL
It’s going to rock, nothing new there.
We need you on-prem before 8pm (we’re tryin to run a tight ship and get this thing all wrapped up before grandpa’s bedtime)
You can play in finals IF 1) you’ve already played once this season and b) you’re all paid up
Top 16 in the standings play a group round robin format (everyone plays everyone else once) for the A division. Top 4 after four rounds will battle for the PPC CHAMPIONS CUP in the final round.
Remaining players compete in a strikes format in B division. B Finals will be run on MatchPlay here.
Prizes? Buddy, we are loaded down with em. Top 4 in both divisions are taking home cash (or tokens), and the champs will leave with storied pieces of PPC hardware. AS PER, the community prize tables will be piled high with
crapincredible treasures for all, all night.
AND ABOUT THAT PRIZE TABLE
I would normally write something here like “you know it, I know it, we invented this, we are the best”, etc etc, but last week we had FORTY PEOPLE show up (genuine PPC all-time record, mildly concerning), so a refresher is in order.
Basically more or less, we have pioneered a technology heretofore unseen in today’s garden-variety adult pinball leagues (to which we do not belong, of course, seeing as this is a club): THE PPC COMMUNITY PRIZE TABLE.
The rules of the PPC CPT are as such:
There are two tables. Each brimming with all manner of fantastical nonsense for you to collect.
Take a visit to the DOOR PRIZE table if any of your scores end in 00. ALL NIGHT.
Unlock a trip to the PRIMO PRIZE table by completing one of the listed primo objectives on any game. ALL NIGHT.
ALL OF THE BEST STUFF to ever grace these tables is delivered direct from the PPC crew. Your band’s new record, your rad new zines, your weird stack of bootleg DVDs, your next-level baked goods, your incredible basement treasures. If you think it’s cool, we think it’s cool, and we all want it! Bring it down and lay it on us.
AND FINALLY, A SHORT ANNOUNCEMENT
After one million wonderful years, it’s time for me to pass the organizer crown, and I am so stoked to say that Erica Thomas and Felix Sanchez are gonna take up the reins for the PPC starting in January! Massive thanks to you both (and big congrats to the rest of us), you guys are gonna be amazing.
As ever, anything remotely cool that happens at the PPC is b/c you’re all such rad people that bring it with you every week.
Back when we started, I always hoped this club would end up feeling like something we were all making together, and does it ever these days. The real secret of the PPC is that I just do the same exact shit every week and it’s all of you that bring the raddest vibes and make the actual magic.
I feel very grateful to you all and very lucky to say that the PPC is in good hands (your hands)! 💛💛💛
(btw, this isn’t a forever goodbye or anything, I’ll see you around!)
