Belles and Chimes is back! AND a tourney at the Machine Shop!
Friends! I am super pumped to bring you TWO pieces of crucial, clutch-cargo information direct from TWO of your esteemed homies in the PPC crew.
First — the Philly chapter of Belles and Chimes is back, baby!
Second — there’s a tourney at the Machine Shop on 6/1 to raise money for a sick new area arcade!
BELLES AND CHIMES PHL
Belles and Chimes is an international network of inclusive women’s pinball leagues run by women, for women, and our own Erica Thomas is putting Philly back on the map this summer!
B&C kicks off a 4-week summer league on 6/17 that is open to cis & trans women, non-binary, and gender non-confirming players, and get this — it’s going down Mondays at 7:30pm at the Fishtown Barcade, LIKE YA NEVER EVEN LEFT! Hell yeah.
Belles and Chimes Summer schedule:
Week 1: 6/17
Week 2: 6/24
Week 3: 7/1
Finals: 7/8
See their insta, FB, or Erica on Monday nights for more info!
TOURNEY AT THE MACHINE SHOP ON 6/1
Have you guys been to Joe Casacio’s Machine Shop yet? Are you kidding me with this place? Remember in T2 when John Connor goes “she’s not my mother, TODD”, and then him and Budnick peel out of the driveway on that sick ass dirt bike? This is where they would be going.
I cannot over-sell how badass this place is.
AND our pal Erin Young is throwing down a WEEKEND OF WEIRDNESS there with TWO events on 5/31 and 6/1!
First up is the Skate or Die Wizard Shredfest (come on, what did I tell you) in which all the games will be on free play and a brand new homebrew machine based on Skate or Die will be on-prem for you and yours to rip.
From Erin:
Admission price is "Pay What You Can." All proceeds will go towards the "Frank's Super Game-O-Rama" fundraiser. Want to know more about Frank's? Come to the Shredfest to find out more!
AND THEN, there’s FRANK'S MATCHPLAY MAYHEM TOURNAMENT the very next day. Proceeds benefit the opening of Frank’s Super Game-O-Rama, a new arcade that simply sells itself with a name like that.
Here’s what’s up:
WHEN: 6/1, 3pm (Doors open at 1pm)
WHERE: 115 E Glenside Ave Glenside, PA 19038
Note: Glenside Machine Shop is the large warehouse on the right side of the parking lot. It has a GMS sign next to the door.
Additional parking can be found right around the corner at 127 Bickley Rd, Glenside, PA 19038
COST: $25 (cash only!)
REGISTRATION: at the door!
FORMAT: 5 rounds of group match play qualifying. The number of finalists will depend on turnout. Finalists will play a modified 3-game PAPA format with top 2 from each group advancing.
All proceeds, less winner payouts, IFPA fees, and location expenses will go towards the "Frank's Super Game-O-Rama" fundraiser.
Find Erin or hit up the Machine Shop for more info on FRANK.
ALRIGHT ALREADY, BACK TO IT! See you all in like 15 minutes or something!
💛💛
