FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 2nd, 2026
NYC, NY - Stonybrook University Film MFA Program (in association with Killer Films)
Casting for "Chocolate Milk," a student film that follows a young single mother, Vera, and her son, Nick (between 9-12). Nick's frustration and anxiety around her mother's lateness in picking him up lead him to act out, challenging their bond. Shooting March 20-21st in NYC.
The call is specifically for the role of Nick. The part as written is for a boy, but young female performers in the same age range (9-12) are still encouraged to apply, as depending on their merits, the role may be modified for them. Due to the ethnic background of an actress already cast in the role of Vera, the child's mother, the call is for child performers of an ethnically ambiguous, caucasian, and middle eastern background.
Character details: Has recently moved to New York with his mother when the story begins. He has trouble feeling at home in his new environment. He loves his mother, Vera, but is frustrated with her because she's often late picking him up due to work. Somewhat nervous, an over-thinker.
