My name is Robert Arleo. I am a singer and songwriter. I am staging my original play, “Love Stories”. Opening night is June 6th, Woodstock Playhouse, Woodstock, New York.
The theme of “Love Stories” is the universal aspects of love (meeting, dating, wooing, competing for a love interest, marriage, emotional exhilaration/exhaustion, yearning when apart and, of course, breakups and heartache). The play is set in a fictional bar, “Hadley’s”, with a group of players, each telling a story of a different love experience to bartender “Annie Fitzpatrick”, in 14 separate scenes. Annie engages in conversation, and (when appropriate) comforts and offers advice, all based upon her vast experience as a “bar psychiatrist of love”.
After telling the story, the player sings one of my songs relevant to the story. I seek players with musicals experience to complete my roster. I am paying a flat fee to each player, to be determined. Must be between 18 and 50 years of age. Auditions will be held in April (post Easter/Passover holidays), rehearsals in May, all in the Saugerties, New York area, all dates to be determined.
