"phil's upstate theatre & film list" 2026 support appeal

it's been a very big year for this little list thingie. 

during 2025 i distributed nearly 200 audition and theatre opportunities from about 40 "theatre & film" houses, production companies, theatres, directors, casting agents, etc., to around 700 or so local area theatre & film amateur and professional actors, tech, crew in and around the mid-hudson valley. 

i've also migrated the actual distribution of these emails to a dedicated email service (buttondown). that's involved some added costs, but, i think, has substantially improved the reliability of delivery. thank you buttondown. 

and my biggest thanks of all is to all of you, both those sharing your opportunity notices and those receiving them - whether you have donated or not! 

i hope you all have been pleased. and i hope you all have been rewarded.

a little background

for 21 or so years i've been doing "phil's upstate theatre & film list". that's this-thing where:

i receive emails from various "venues" with information of "theatre & film" opportunities (auditions, positions, etc.) and i pass along these emails to about 700 (currently) email addresses.

it's been rewarding. it takes time. it's work. i say it's a labor of labor. i say that with a grin.

i've liked doing it. it serves me too. i'm not complaining.
and i've been thanked multiply by "venues" and "actors" alike.
and, again, i thank you all too.

and i'm also seeing if i can have it make me a little money.

by donation.
i'm asking for donations.
strictly voluntary donations.
strictly no judgement donations.
strictly no-biggie-if-you-do-or-you-don't donations.

you don't have to donate to remain on phil's list or to continue to send me opportunity emails.

Benefactor*: $60 for calendar year 2026
Supporter*: $30 for calendar year 2026
