Oncology Sales Surge and Twist's Bioinformatics Hiring – June 23, 2025

This week brought over 2,200 new job postings. Here are a few highlights worth noting.

Sales Push

Twist, Takeda, Acadia, and BillionToOne ramped up hiring, while Novartis pulled back.

Barchart of company hiring changes last week

Digging into the numbers, BillionToOne is clearly expanding its oncology sales team on the West Coast, hiring multiple Oncology Sales Specialists, Account Executives, and Regional Managers. One posting for an Oncology Account Executive in South Los Angeles lists a base salary of $155,858 - $181,464, with total compensation reaching $239,608 - $308,964 per year.

The other companies had a mix of sales and some science-focused positions.

Twist Scaling Bioinformatics

Twist Bioscience stood out this week. They usually post fewer roles, but added 9 new openings—including three bioinformatics positions in South San Francisco:

  • Intern – Bioinformatics ($21 - $25/hour)
  • Senior Bioinformatics Scientist – SynBio ($150,000 - $186,103/year)
  • Staff Bioinformatics Production Scientist ($160,314 - $209,649/year)

Internships, co-ops, and temp positions continue to pop up. I track and organize those here if you're looking.

That’s it for this week. Stay safe and cool out there.
