Voting Rights In Texas Teach-In This Thursday
A Voting Rights in Texas Teach-In, from the organizers of NO KINGS Pflugerville, to make Good Trouble
Hi. I’m Jennifer, with Pflugerville Action. On June 14th, you and 1500 of your neighbors joined us in Pflugerville to stand together along Kelly Lane and declare that we have NO KINGS in the USA. You helped to create the largest mass protest in the history of the United States, over 5 MILLION PEOPLE, standing up to fascist shows of power like military (birthday) parades and the illegal military occupation of Los Angeles.
Thank you.
What’s next?
We are heeding the next call for nationwide mass action, to celebrate the legacy of civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis. The weather is doing whatever it wants, so we’re going indoors with the air conditioning.
Please join us this Thursday evening, July 17th, for a Voting Rights In Texas Teach-In, 7pm to 9pm, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP on Mobilize:

This teach-in will focus on the unique history of voting rights suppression in Texas, look at how our state has been a proving ground for modern suppression tactics, and what Texans can do to stand up and fight for voter access.
Speakers include:
Rep. Vikki Goodwin
Former Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir
Stories From the Field by voter registrars
Equality Texas presents how to fight redistricting in the upcoming Special Session.
We will send out the final itinerary soon.

The teach-in will also be a food drive and fundraiser for the St. Andrews food pantry. They do regular unhoused advocacy work and provide many forms of assistance to people in need. This is a nonpartisan event.
If able, please bring a nonperishable food item for the pantry.
Thank you.
Thank you for being a part of this movement, your movement, to protect democracy. There is a long fight ahead of us, and we need each other.
I hope to see you on Thursday.
