🌱✌️Update from permapeople
A lot has been happening since the last newsletter. First of all: Welcome all new people on the platform and subscribers to this newsletter! Glad to have you on board. This is a community-driven project. Please get involved and reach out.
The big data clean up
Over the past couple of months, the community collected many plant data, making it a bit harder to search and find the best plants for your needs. We cleaned it up, restructured and renamed almost everything for more clarity. Head over to the search, use some of the new filters and try to find some plants where the fruits are edible, the plant is a nitrogen fixer to improve your soil and attracts insects all at once.
How to build a greenhouse on a minimal budget
Simon wrote a great blog post on how he built his last greenhouse with most things he found in his backyard and how he improved his food production! Read it here.
New season planning has started
Did you start already planning your new season and looking for seeds? I just got some from the marketplace and I am super excited to grow asparagus this year. If you are not already started, now is the best time to do so. Check out the marketplace for some ideas on what to grow. I'll start indoors with some Rocoto and Birds Eye Chilies in the coming week.
Please reach out with any questions. I am reading and answering every mail.
Happy season start 🌱✌️,
Ben
PS: We received some feedback through our form, which sounds very interesting, but the person didn't provide any contact details. It was about using the hardiness zone and how to get more social among the people on the platform. If you wrote it, I really want to talk to you to learn more. Please reach out!
