"Literary Criticism in a Time of Genocide", Steve Salaita
Runner-up perfect sentence from this talk:
"The Higher States of Bromine", Derek Lowe in Science
Submitted by Wesley.
"Of the Empire", Mary Oliver
When I was in high school we had to read "Wild Geese" at least once a year and honestly I am a little angry that I only just learned Mary Oliver also wrote poems like this.
Review of Furiosa by Robert Daniels for RogerEbert.com
"In Damascus", Mahmoud Darwish (translator unknown)
I have seen other translations in looking for the source of this sentence (I saw it in an IG post) but they don't seem quite as perfect. The Arabic original may be perfect in its own right, so I will share it here:
في دمشق :/ تدور الحوارات بين الكمنجة و العود/ حول سؤال الوجود وحول النهايات
