Apologies first to @freecraigslistsnob.bsky.social because he nominated Liz Lopatto’s sentence last week; I had already encountered and added it but did not mean to appear to engage in stolen sentence valor.

Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity, David Lynch
I’ve been listening to the audiobook of this (read by Lynch) at the recommendation of Chris, and not only is it helpful for thinking about the grief of Lynch’s passing but also just thinking about how to keep living amidst all of the all this. It’s got me returning to ideas I’d shelved and really letting myself sit with fleeting ideas. Lynch also has such a wonderful soothing cadence—the enthusiasm with which he says the texture of a rotting body is “unbelievable” really makes it a more wholesome sentence than it seems as plain text.
It’s not like I was a super-fan of David Lynch’s movies, but his passing really shook me. People who are so entirely themselves, just incapable of faking it and wildly deeply present, are so rare in this world.
