PDX Digital Corps Update - May 30th

As June approaches, here’s an update on our projects. Besides these projects, our goal for June is doing one last in-person event that’ll be social like always but it’ll be a more formal “lessons learned” style presentation about our projects, what happened/what was done and that’s about it.

June should be the last month formally of PDX Digital Corps, it’s been really surprising and fun doing this cohort and we’re excited to land the plane on this effort. So if you were hoping to get involved, this is the last month for you to do that and all of our engagements could probably use your help, especially the newer ones Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association and Uplift Lab.

🧠 OSU Uplift Lab

Meg is meeting with the Uplift Lab team on Thursday. We're kicking things off by identifying the data we’ll need from them to get started.

🌊 Cape Perpetua Collaborative

The team met with CPC on 5/27 and walked through our initial observations and recommendations. They've officially given the green light for us to move forward with changes—great work, everyone.

🚸 Families for Safer Streets

No major updates this week, but this project remains active. We’ll check in again soon to see where support is needed.

🏙️ Portland City Club

Ron met with City Club (5/30) to begin shaping a strategy engagement. The goal is to help them develop an RFI/RFP for a future website redesign. This is a strategy-only engagement, we’re not doing any digital work for them, this is mostly about helping them better source this kind of work when they’re ready.

🏘️ Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association

We’ve sent them a draft scope of work. This Friday (5/30), we’ll be including a call in the public newsletter to recruit volunteers interested in helping with this or the City Club project. Keep an eye out if you want to get involved.

🧪 Built Oregon

No updates this week, but project is ongoing.

🌲 Conservation Digital Corps (Seattle)

They reached out to us to learn about our model and we had two conversations where we helped them understand how the Digital Corps worked, some of our lessons learned as they plot their own conservation focused digital sprint that they’re still navigating.
