#11 - A List

I'm taking a day off today, my first one for a good many months, and whilst I had told myself I would at least write a Patelogram, having wrestled with this over an early lunch (paprika laced baked beans on hot, buttered, half and half toast - can't beat it), I decided it probably was better to save the topic I was going to write about til next week. That's the sneaky thing with writing. If you're anything like me, you still struggle to call it work though it definitely well is because you're so grateful to be able to dedicate any time to it whatsoever, let alone get paid for it.

I'm doing it. I'm getting sucked in. But I do want to write something so on the back of a hard week that requires some reflection, so let me do a quick list of things that I'm grateful for:

- I'm grateful for brilliant script editors.

- I'm grateful for self-taping actors.

- I'm grateful, as ever, for an audience.

- I'm grateful for the man who confused me for someone else in the canteen and, my being too embarrassed to stop him, had a twenty minute conversation with me where I created the backstory of the person I supposedly was on the fly. My own mini Quantum Leap.

- I'm grateful that I can live in London.

- I'm grateful that my grandmother is back from India.

- I'm grateful that exes invite me to their weddings.

- I'm grateful to be taking my first proper two week break (ok, one and a half weeks) in years from the 27th May through til the 6th of June. I can't afford to go anywhere but I tell you this so you can remind me that to keep it sacred. I've so far scheduled only the one meeting for it. But one's fine right. One meeting never harmed anyone. My grandma took meetings till she was bazillianty years old and she never --

- I'm grateful for B12 tablets.

- I'm grateful for good non-alcoholic beer.

- I'm grateful for beans on toast. My first and truest love.

Have a restful weekend, folks. Apparently you normies also have another Bank Holiday on Monday?

You sneaky little foxes, I love you for it. Enjoy.

Vin x
