What's New on Party of One: We're Back w/Brennan Lee Mulligan!

Hey Party People!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope the holidays brought you some time to rest and relax, or at least the chance not to check your work email for a few days. (Even if you were working. We won’t tell anyone.)
In podcast news, we’re back from our annual winter hiatus, we’re rested, and we’ve kicked off our 2024 season with a bang.
All the King’s Goblins with Brennan Lee Mulligan
In our 2024 season premiere, I’m joined by none other than Dimension 20 Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan for a game of All the King’s Goblins by Color Spray Games.
This episode is a delight; Jen described it while editing as “like listening to a live Looney Tunes episode.” And that’s pretty special–they don’t make too many live Looney Tunes episodes, on account of it’s too hard on the animator’s wrists.

What’s Coming This Month
1/17: Last Year with Joshua Pangborn
It’s been so restful in this hotel the past… wait how long have we been here? Why can’t I remember how long we’ve been here???
1/24: Tangled Blessings with Cat McDonald
Brackroot Academy is proud to welcome two fine young students to its prestigious, magical halls… just don’t mind the many secrets and terrors lurking among them.
1/31: The Links Between with Ell
Tonight, in the main event, two rivals duke it out… in an ultraviolet dog collar match!
2/7: PARTY OF ONE #400.
400 EPISODES. HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN.
Behind the Scenes: Party of One 2023 By the Numbers
We’ve spent the past few weeks running numbers on last year’s podcast episodes–listen numbers, guest info, all that jazz. Here, for your browsing pleasure, are those results.
There are a great deal of interesting things in here. Some frustrating (I hate seeing that dropoff in listens), and some that illuminates the changes I want to make with the show in 2024: More variety in guest backgrounds, more weird ambitious episodes, and new ways of spotlighting friends and return guests.
Big plans are afoot. Stay tuned. <3

Something I Liked, That You Might Too
The Tick (2016 Series)
I held off on watching The Tick for a long time. I adore the comics, and the 90s cartoon holds up better than you’d expect. My standards were… let’s say high.
Dear listener, I could not have been more wrong. The show is a delight. It grounds some elements of the story, brings in some modern influences (there’s so much Venture Bros in here), and it’s just a goddamn slam dunk.
Check it out.
Until next time, thank you for reading. Remember to fight the forces of fascism every single day. Remember that self-love and self-care are radical, defiant act of resistance. And as always…
