NEW BOOK BY AURORA SOLBERG

Aurora Solberg - the woods we live in
(2nd edition / Japanese edition)  

Launch and exhibition at Popotame Books & Art:
27–30 November (book launch party November 28)

We are thrilled to launch our Japanese edition of Aurora Solbergs ‘the woods we live in’, together with Hand Saw Press, at Tokyo book store Popotame Books & Art! Solberg will also exhibit original paintings and prints at Popotame. We are currently working in Hand Saw Press studio to finish binding 200 copies of the book!

The book will also be available at Tokyo Art Book Fair at Hand Saw Press table in the first weekend.  

Aurora Solberg works with watercolor paintings in various formats. Her practice explores color, materials, and composition, primarily through watercolor on paper. The artworks and projects stem from an ongoing body of work titled Biotop. These paintings depict imaginary landscapes – a meditative reflection on her personal perception of nature. Following a journey to Japan in 2018, Aurora Solberg has also been strongly inspired by materials and techniques from Nihonga, traditional Japanese watercolor painting.

The Japanese edition of the artists’ book is made possible with funding from Art Council Norway, the events and exhibition is made possible with funding from Bergen Municipality.

CHRISTMAS SALE AT TEKSTALLMENNINGEN

We look forward to a small Christmas Sale takeover at Tekstallmenningen on December 12–13, featuring launches by Aurora Solberg and Træsh forlag (with Zarina Saidova), and digital launches by Trippelpunkt and Breakdown Press.

On Friday, December 12, Zarina Saidova from Træsh forlag will present the third edition of Træsh Magazine, with a small presentation and reception from 16:00–19:00. Some refreshments will be served.

On Saturday, December 13, at 13:00, we will launch Aurora Solberg’s second edition of the woods we live — fresh from the printers in Tokyo! There will be Japanese snacks!

Tekstallmenningen is a small, and highly important, book shop in Bergen that have a rich selection of magazines, periodicals, books and artists’ books!  

Opening hours for at Tekstallmenningen:
Friday: 11:00–19:00
Saturday: 12:00–15:00
