Some Press
Firstly, the voter registration deadline is this Friday the 11th, so please Share your plan to vote with friends and family today. It really makes a difference.
My friends and family have been sending kind words after reading the News and Observer interview of me by Tammy Grubb
from which I will quote myself:
I’m mindful that this is a special election to fill a
vacancy, and it comes up again the very next year. I have
some notions of the ways that I would like to participate,
if I only get that one year, but I (also) have a vision
that extends well beyond that. What are the kinds of
things that need to be true for Carrboro to still be
thriving (in the future)? Those are infrastructure
investments, those are policy investments that are going
to take time to work out and do correctly.
If you haven't read my platform, I spell out the priority areas for those infrastructure and policy investments.
Another post sent my way today was my interview with Triangle Blog Blog, which is every bit as thoughtful and quirky as Carrboro itself. I wrestled with the questions, and I hope my answers motivate some folks to come out to vote.
Thanks to Tammy Grubb and the folks at TBB for the chance to reach a bigger audience, and hopefully I'll see many of y'all on the 17th when I come out to vote.
Warmly,
CMP
P.S. Having struggled with the N&O paywall even as a paying subscriber, I'm happy to pass along a copy of the article to those who request it, but I'm a big fan of journalists getting paid for their work, so please support Tammy Grubb's work by paying for access if you're able.
P.P.S. Would you be so kind as to forward this email to your neighborhood e-mail list, Nextdoor, WhatsApp group, or however it is that your neighbors share the important stuff that has come up? These next two weeks are critical for raising awareness of what’s on the ballot, and a local election is a great way to get people to connect.
