⧉ Pattern recognition
Welcome to the fifteenth issue of OVERLAP ⧉

Pattern recognition
Remember that parallelogram of projects from a while back? Right now, my balanced mix of personal and professional endeavors feels more like a precarious Jenga tower. (I’m running a writing accelerator at work and Roll Film Week is in full swing ... and those are just the blocks on top.)
Part of what makes RFW so interesting — and such a big undertaking — is the way we approach daily features. Of the hundreds of tagged photos posted each day, we look for themes and select eight images around a particular pattern we’ve spotted.
Most of my daily work is abstract and verbal; working on a visual puzzle is a nice way to reset my brain. The first few days of features are posted, so you can look at all the photos and see what we selected.

Auntie Jess recommends:
Tuca & Bertie. If you need a distraction (and don’t mind absurd adult humor), this Netflix series will delight you.
Year of the Meteor. I mentioned Robin Sloan’s newsletter in the first issue, but I look forward to it so much each week that it deserves an official recommendation.
A smaller backpack. I bought mini State Bags for my nieces a couple years ago and recently acquired one of my own. Apparently I’m on trend.
