“Diets don’t work; LOVE does.”
Negative emotions cause nervous system chaos. - Positive emotions align the nervous system.
On average, we have 70,000 thoughts a day, and 98% of those thoughts are repeats from the previous day. Furthermore, 80% of them are negative towards ourselves or someone else.
Positive emotions strengthen the integrity of our hearts and arteries.
Weight-obsessed culture, weight loss, weight loss, weight loss. Judgment loss over weight loss. Let go of scarcity, worthiness, and unworthiness. You are worthy, you always have been, and you always will be.
Neural pathways forged from self-criticism can be rewired with self-love, releasing us from being our own worst enemies. It will feel so good as you lay down those new neural networks filled with self-love.
Chocolate Cake Study.
They had two groups of people:
#1: One group identified eating cake with guilt, shame, bad habits, and cheating.
#2: The second group identified eating cake with celebration, fun, and pleasure.
Results show; the guilty group (Group #1) was significantly higher in the stress hormone cortisol, compared to the fun group (Group #2). Not only is the guilty group (Group #1) feeling negative emotions and feeling more stressed, but in fact, in the longer term, those guilty folks had a harder time losing weight and weighed more in the long run.
Positive Self Talk Only
1. Positive self talk only
Under no circumstances do you deserve to be berated for the fact that you missed the gym, or you ate a piece of cake, or you did anything. You don’t deserve it, most especially not from yourself.
2. Thank you
Remember those 98% of your thoughts that you repeated from yesterday? Lets ditch them. That leaves you with over 68,000 thoughts that you could instead say the words; thank you for this day, thank you for my friend, thank you for my beating heart.
3. Take time
Every single day, take time to breathe into that heart space and feel the love. Positive emotions will keep your heart strong, breathe into your core, understand how it works, and get deeper than the superficial. There is always more than meets the eye.
