The Power of “Non-Judgmental Labelling”

One effective technique to cultivate consciousness in the present moment is Non-Judgmental Labelling, also known as Labelling or Acknowledging. This simple yet powerful method involves:

  1. Noticing a thought, emotion, or physical sensation: Become aware of your internal experience without trying to change it.

  2. Labelling it with a neutral term: Give the experience a brief, descriptive label, such as “thinking,” “feeling anxious,” or “physical tension.”

  3. Letting go of judgment and attachment: Release any emotional investment in the experience, allowing yourself to observe it objectively.
