What surfaces — Manifesto: Room for the primal feeling
Dear reader,
Between Edition 3 and the next edition, something surfaced that I did not want to keep to myself. A manifesto — short and clearly stated — on what I described in Edition 3 only in scattered pieces.
It is called Room for the primal feeling — a manifesto for the preservation of human connection in an age of accelerating technology. Eight points, with sources from McGilchrist, Porges, Haidt, Walker and Hüther. Not a pedagogical treatise — a sober statement about who we want to be at the other side of this century.
It appears today in a new place on the website — a section I have called What surfaces. Here, irregularly and when something surfaces, shorter work appears alongside the editions. No calendar, no promise of a regular column. Only what surfaces — and only then.

One sentence as a preview:
We measure the outside of the universe with ever greater precision, while we let the inside of the human being shrivel unprotected.
If you know one person for whom this text seems written — send them the address openvizier.org/en/what-surfaces/. One person. That is enough.
With warm regards, Jacobus van Merksteijn Malta
