Edition 6 — Nova Democratia
Dear reader,
Edition 6 of The Open Visor has been published — Nova Democratia.
In Edition 3 I wrote about what happens to the child, in Edition 4 about what happens once that child becomes a banker or a judge. Edition 6 is about how we can redesign the institution they serve — not as a manifesto, but as a measured blueprint. Three world powers are led by technocrats, jurists and autocrats with a clear doctrine of state design. The fourth — Europe — still believes its democracy will defend itself.
Fourteen pieces that together carry one body of thought: a five-year Pareto analysis with a projected forty-two per cent reduction in total brake-weight. Not a utopia, not a manifesto — a workable design that could land institutionally somewhere.
In this edition, among other things:
- Why this must be — Europe between tsar, jurists and chemist
- Brussels as variable, not as constant
- The six orders of phasing — rebuilding a load-bearing structure
- The Swiss mirror and The Canadian mirror
- Where does your party stand? — a weighted map
- UEI — a European counter-power from Switzerland
- The best way forward — what the first 100 days, first year, first five years concretely require
For those who prefer to listen: every article has a read-aloud function. For those who prefer to read: PDF and Word are downloadable per article.

One request to you. If you know one person — a public administrator, a parliamentary aide, an official in a ministry of interior, a journalist writing on institutional reform — send them the address openvizier.org/en/edition-6/. One person. That is enough.
Until the next edition — which appears when it is ready, without a fixed calendar.
With warm regards, Jacobus van Merksteijn Malta
