New Vocoder & Open Statistics
OpenDAW got some new, noticeable updates, like the new classic analysis/synthesis vocoder with a twist. Carrier and modulator frequency ranges are fully independent. Stretch, compress, or reverse the spectral mapping between them for sounds most vocoders can't touch.
Check the manual and start vocoding…

There is also a new opendaw.studio/stats page that gives us a window into how openDAW is being used in the wild. It tracks live room (collaboration) activity, how many sessions are happening, how many users are joining, and visualises the data over time.

No personal data is collected, just anonymous, bucketed numbers that help us make better decisions about where to optimise.
We've put up a performance page at opendaw.studio/performance. It runs a set of DSP benchmarks directly in your browser, measuring how fast your machine handles the kind of audio processing openDAW does under the hood. This one is mainly for the curious and the technically minded, but if you ever wondered how your setup stacks up, give it a spin.
And lastly, we have added a dedicated monitoring dialog for recording. When arming a track, you can now choose between direct monitoring or monitoring through your effects chain, adjust volume and pan independently from the mix, mute monitoring, and even route the monitor signal to a separate output device (Chrome only). A live peak meter keeps you informed while you play.

See you soon! ❤️
