Hello June bugs!

Lots on the go- working on visuals, recording demos, planning a tour, etc etc <3. It’s been a couple of weeks since I released Ghost Ship- have you listened yet? :~)

I was driving to a show with Mo on Saturday, and on the way there we cracked open the old conversation that often precedes going on stage. “Why do we do this? This is insane”. “What is clinically, pathologically wrong with me? I need several diagnoses”.

It’s SO weird, honestly, to be a kind of normal person living your life and then be like “Wait- I need to amplify my voice to tell my deepest fears to thousands of strangers and I need to do it NOW.”

Anywaaaays…we are all but channels, finding our voices and expressing some kind of universal melody or harmony however we may/must. As long as we stay open and remain unattached to what passes through, we’ll be reet (Yorkshire slang for “alright”, “just fine”).

NOWADAYS

If you don’t already know, I help organize a festival in Dartmouth called NOWADAYS. It’s a lush labour of love run by a team of artists, non-profit volunteer board style.

We put on crazy memorable shows like Sheer Mag in the local legion, Jeff Parker in an old stone church, a double header of Charlotte Cornfield and The Weather Station, and Jonathan Richman at the waterfront theatre. And that was all only last year!

We have tickets on sale for the first few shows announced for this October 8-10, in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. You can check them out at our website. I sincerely hope you can come out and experience the magic with us!
