A month of Racing and Building

I can’t say the past month has been all calm. But all for the better.
First, thank you all for following the journey – there are now 40 of you on the OpenCargo newsletter. I still haven’t quite figured out whether this is a private blog or a corp newsletter, and I don’t really know what you expect from it. So if you find it boring, not informative enough, or you’d like more specific news from here – tell me. (It’s still just me running this, so I do whatever I want, eheh.)
Svajerløb 2026
As part of the organisation committee (sounds official – it really isn’t), it was a genuinely great moment on many fronts: the number of people coming from far away, and the set-up right in front of the Bullitt Flagship Store in Copenhagen, which was quite unique.
If you were wondering whether it was worth joining, I’ll just link this year’s album by Anders Hviid – and wait for you on the start line next year.

BigaRace 2026
Second amazing race of the summer. Less flat: 30 km of pedalling uphill with 50 crazy cargo bikers, up to the 3rd highest paved road in Europe. My favourite picture is of me and my uncle, who joined on his touring bike.

A few things from the catalogue
Anyway – since we’re on the subject of going places, two things from OpenCargo worth pointing at:
Take the bike further → BikeCarGo Explorer. Bikecargo (UK) built what they claim is the world’s first roof rack carrier made specifically for front-loader cargo bikes. If this month proved anything, it’s that the best rides are rarely on your doorstep – this is how you get the bike there. Fits Bullitt and Riese & Müller.
The deck that climbed the Agnello → Biga Pianale Colle dell’Agnello. Biga (Italy) makes a custom printed Bullitt deck named after the exact climb 50 of us suffered up at the BigaRace. Wear your pain with pride.
That’s the whole point of OpenCargo, really – the makers doing this stuff are all over the place, and this is where they end up in one spot.
Cheers, and thanks for riding cargo.
