New Learning

As some of us have mentioned one purpose of Open Space could be simply for us all to share resources and ideas ? More people are tuning in. (A warm welcome !!) Let’s keep these options open and discuss, disagree or agree, as needed. When we meet as a group we can firm up suggestions.
Here, from Charles is a resource; the Henri Nouwen podcast at https://henrinouwen.org/listen/ Henri and Thomas Merton are two of the Greatest founders of modern spirituality in the catholic tradition.. Both were in profound dialogue with other religions and with people outside religion. Look for the many talks and chats with Henri Nouwen himself - I find them compelling.
Also in the podcast, see the conversation with Robert A Jonas, a buddhist teacher, where the two find much common ground. Here is a summary of one podcast, on hope and prayer, with protestant pastor, Brian Stiller.
Please send in your suggestions. Different resources help different people.
A summary of one, to give you the feel of his talks.
Prayer is difficult for so many. It is a journey.
A journey from loneliness to solitude (from solus - alone)
….from hostility to hospitality
….from illusion to prayer.
Prayer for me means first of all listening. Trustful listening. Listening to the voice that calls me “the beloved”.
Listening for the truth of myself that God announces to me.
Solitude means to be alone.
To be alone with God. And let God tell me who I am - his beloved.
I find a quiet place each morning. I simply take some phrase, like………..“The Lord is my Shepherd. There is nothing I shall want. ”
