Somewhere between Chennai & San Diego
Hello again! It’s already May???
We’re writing to you from Chennai airport while scarfing down paneer rolls that mama packed us for breakfast (along with homemade tiramisu!)
We’ve spent the last month in reset mode - Nate went back to San Diego to see his family, then flew to Chennai to join Shruti and her family.

While Nate caught up with old friends and visited his favourite diner in San Diego, Shruti traveled to Bangalore & Mumbai to see family friends and her baby nephew (who has grown so much in the last year!)

A few days after Nate landed in Chennai, Shruti’s parents had a little party in the building to celebrate our (almost) first wedding anniversary. Mama made a delicious chocolate mousse cake and Shruti made a caricature to top it off.

Our social calendar has been full of children’s birthday parties and lots of family time. Nate’s new best friend is a 3 year old cutie everyone lovingly calls kuttu (tiny).

Over the last few weeks we’ve settled into a nice routine around the dining table – drinking papa’s filter kaapi, chatting with friends in the building who drop in with treats, and helping mama bake (i.e. pretending to help until we get shooed away from the kitchen.)
Here are just a few photos of our time in India:

Bye for now, Chennai. We‘re on our way to someplace even more hot and humid. Next stop, Singapore!
P.S. Here’s our itinerary for the next couple of months. As always, we’d love your recommendations! Hit reply to this email to say hi :)
