I’ll be launching two new zines. Sammy Doom volume 4 and a visual horror ‘flip’ zine called Catherin’s Glory Box.
Catherine’s Glory Box is a bit of an experiment. It has colour for one thing. It also has no written plot and is almost purely driven by visuals. I described it as a flip books as i’m cutting the pages to shape so when you turn a page its like you’re lifting things out of the box. I want the reader to think ‘what the hell happened here?’ all the way to the back page. I think it needed to put a few more hints in. It will be interesting to hear what people think happened.
The plot of Sammy Doom is basically the tale of Orpheus. The only research I’ve done for it is Listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Wikipedia image search for lyres. Speaking of Sammy Doom…
