The Big Comedown
I hoped things would slow down.
They have not.
to quote horsebooks ‘everything happens so much’
Unrelated to anything but my own herbrious, its finally cold enough for roast potatoes. Delightful.
Thanks to the way my roster works, i ended up having 5 days of thanks to the ANZAC day public.
I got no rest. Nor any significant art done. i ended up being too busy. Self inflicted for the most part.
Thursday sore me going to see Caligular’s Horse. And Saturday had me seeing Nick Cave solo. Caligular’s horse is a progressive metal bad and Nick Cave was just with a piano with the bassist from radio head. Two very different musical acts, yet they were energizing, inspirational and shook some of the cobwebs out of my brain and gave me some small hope that things could be home.
That was until the drive home.
That hour long drive from melbourne back to Geelong does my head. I get trapped in very negative though spiral. Given how late I got back from both gigs I really didn’t have a hell of a lot of energy the following days.
But still. I persist.

Ideas. They are fleeting. And frequently not good. so this is not the worst comic in the world. this is just a tribute.
I stumbled upon a little gallery/cafe in QV today and looked up their prices to hire the space. over $2000 per week with 20% commission. Two weeks in that gallery would cost me over a months pay. It a bit of a downer. And it leaves me thinking that there has to be a better way of getting at out into the world other than over priced galleries and the algorithmic trash fire of the internet. Unfortunately I’m yet to figure out one.
Speaking of galleries, I’m not digging my drawing for the 50× 50 art prize. I may have to rethink it.
That’s it for now. its getting late.
We should all get some rest.
good night all
