Weird Tales from the Old Skull
Hello, wonderful weirdos!
It’s been a while, but I am back with another letter from the City of Adventure Alphabet! This time it’s “E is for Entertainment”, and you can generate all sorts of attractions that can go horribly wrong!
Also, the party game I made inspired by WG&WP podcast is almost ready for publications (and members of the Weirdos’ Cool Club will get it for free in print!). Called “I am a WEIRDO because…”, it is written for me, and illustrated/laid out by my good friend, Tiger Wizard (Andrew), and it looks so cool! I am still waiting for the sticker, but we can check out a preview!
As always, I share some cool stuff I have been checking out lately on Weird Discoveries, and share with you the latest episodes of Weird Games & Weirder People!
Let’s get weird!
E is for Entertainment
Where there are people, there is something to do, and adventurers love something to do, especially if they can avoid “real adventure” stuff. Entertainment, thus, is an obvious choice in a game focused on city adventures, as it will attract people of all sorts, and they will probably have money, and things to steal. Additionally, there’s always something that happens when you mix all of that with drugs, conflicting interests, and the good (or would it be bad?) old human nature. So what do people do for fun in the cities of adventure? Listen to bards sing songs of glory and doom? Watch performers disappear in thin air in the open plazas? Attend the Secret Sorcery Championship?
How to Use Entertainment
A new form of entertainment is becoming very popular in the city, leaving a large portion of the population addicted. They are spending all they have on it, and even becoming indebted. This could happen to someone the PCs know, or maybe even with themselves as the result of a few nights of carousing. The problem is, some of these people are starting to disappear.
PCs might just be looking to kill some time between adventures, or enjoy a little bit of their gold before risking life and limb in musty old dungeons again. They stumble upon one of these entertainers and get tangled up in one of the situations generated. Will they ignore this and go on to their next adventure? What will happen then?
This is a great opportunity for some multimedia interaction. Why not create a mini-game for some of these options? Or maybe find a video of a performer and show it to the group when they find them on the streets? There are tons of quick board games you could play during a tabletop RPG session and rationalize it as some weird wizard’s game!

Want to check the whole table?
Did you know that the final version of the City of Adventure Alphabet will feature d20 tables instead of d10 tables? And did you you can check the d20 tables for all the letter that have already been written in the draft text of the project? All you gotta do is become a member of our Weirdos’ Cool Club, contribute with a little more than a cup of coffee per month, and get this and a lot of other perks! Check it out, get cool wonderfully weird things, and support my work!
I Am a WEIRDO Because…
Ok, this was the first thing I started designing as part of this newsletter/blog thingy, and it is so far the most professional one I’ve developed here. I hired an editor, and a artist to work with me, and it shows! Look at that beauty!

If you don’t know, “I Am a WEIRDO Because…” is is a party game about being yourself, friendship, and celebration of differences! It’s pretty fun and a great game for conventions! Soon available in print (and it will come with stickers), and digital formats!
Do you want a copy?
You can do like everyone else and wait for the game to be released to secure your copy (it will be a fairly limited run), or you can become a member of our Weirdos’ Cool Club and secure your copy now! I will ship it all members once it’s ready, and before everyone else!
Weird Games and Weirder People T-Shirts?
I have been receiving some praise on the new look of my podcast, Weird Games & Weirder People, so I am thinking about making some T-Shirts available for purchase! What do you think? If you had to choose one from those below, which would you pick?

Weird Discoveries
And now for some wonderfully weird things I have been enjoying since our last post!
Dungeon Degenerates

A beautiful, weird, and wonderful board game with very strong TTRPG vibes, with an OSRish aesthetic, and AMAZING ART! I always wanted it, and I could only get it because friends gave me one as present (I am forever thankful for that)! There is also expensions, and a an RPG inspired by the setting in production!
Cairn - 2nd Edition

Cairn is probably one of the best well-made NSR TTRPGs out there. Created by one of the wisest and best game designers out there, the game provides a simple yet very flexible and gameable structure of rules, and a lot of tools and guidance to make your fantasy gaming simple, exciting and dynamic. A perfect game! And this art by fellow RPGLATAM creator Bruno Prosaiko? Top Notch!
Epic Levels

I am a punk rock guy. To the bone! But… I am nerd. And this is a duet of rappers who sing about TTRPG! It’s the band by Tiger Wizard (Andrew) and Dragon Warrior (Steve), and it’s soooo good! Very inspiring, and I loved blasting this on my headphones while I walked through the ayles of a gaming convention!
Appendix N Jam

Also, there is this great game jam going on right now called Appendix N Jam! Created by two dear friends (Dank Dungeons and Jorphdan), the Jam even has prizes. Participants receive “fake” Appendinx N inspired book titles and have to make a short adventure with it. I love it! Oh, I am a judge in this also. So watch out! I will be judging you!
