Happy days oio readers! Spring has sprung and flowers have...flung? But most importantly you are reading the latest issue of oio news, fresh out of the press. The dark months are over, birds have sung and here at oio we have some news and updates, right here below. If you are a talented 2D / UI animator it could be your lucky day, and ours. We are looking for a freelance animator to join our team for a project, more info below. We are also starting a one-year residency at MuDAC - the museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts of Lausanne, and we are kicking-off the residency with an installation at the Milan Design Week. We are also organising our first out-person meeting (the opposite of in-person, hihi) and we are inviting all our Discord friends. But enough spoiling, please enjoy our latest news issue!

✏️ The last pencil

In the past few months we've been sharpening our woodsticks in order to get ready for this unique event that marks the beginning of a one-year residency with our friends at MuDAC - the museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts of Lausanne. In the next twelve months we'll be sharing more updates about our collaboration, but the first milestone is an installation at the Milan Design Week, named: The Last Pencil.

If you find yourself in Milan questioning your life choices among dubious interior design pieces, you might as well come to Dropcity for a bit of fresh air! There will be plenty of oio freebies (500 of them!) but we all know that they'll be gone on day one, so be quick! It's on from the 17th to the 23rd of April, more info here below. 📣 Call for 2D / UI animators

We are looking for a talented Freelance 2D animator with a strong UI focus, to join our team for an exciting design project starting at the end of April, for about eight weeks. If you have some serious skills in tools such as Figma and After Effects, have a passion for visual storytelling, and an eye for detail, you might be the perfect candidate to join our team for this project. If you are not a talented 2D animator, maybe you have a friend who is, so be a good friend and send him the link below.

🎤 oio everywhere

In the last few weeks we've been busy doing many talks around London, and we have more coming up. Right above you can see oio's design director Matteo Loglio talking at the Imperial College in London, introduced as "the hottest design studio in London" 🥵🥵 but he was also at Central Saint Martins and he'll start lecturing at the London College of Fashion as well, in the next few months.

If you are in Milan for the Design Week, don't miss The future prompt: a conversation about the potential future scenarios that could arise from integrating AI into design research and practice while also considering the ethical and societal implications of its use in the near future, where our own Simone Rebaudengo will be exploring future AI collaboration scenarios. It will take place at Domus Academy in collaboration with Speculative Futures Milan.

🎉 OIO OFFICE HOURS!

We are organising our first office hours event, and you are all invited! Office hours are an informal get-together, and they happen on our Discord. We can have a chat, meet up, and share some of the public projects we are working on, and we'd love to hear from you. This is a first in what we hope could be a series of events, so stay tuned for the next one if you can't make it.
