Issue 11

Hello oio friends! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Itโ€™s been a while but you know how it is, you blink in June and itโ€™s suddenly September. Here at oio weโ€™ve been slowly but surely pushing through the summer, and now that itโ€™s over, exciting news are starting to pop up all over the place. Hereโ€™s a freshly baked oio foundersโ€™ interview, an AI workshop for kids we did and a new talk from our own Simone that just dropped, plus a whole lot of cool links from our Discord!

P.S. weโ€™re about to launch our first product, wonโ€™t spoil much yet, just know that itโ€™s a spoonful ๐Ÿ™Š

More press!

It was an absolute pleasure to talk with FRAME Magazine in this extensive 10-page feature interview that you can find in the September issue of the printed magazine.

After an international treasure hunt we managed to get our hands on the printed issue, but it was all worth it because pages 46 through 54 are full of oio goodies!

You can find oioโ€™s founders Matteo and Simone in the "Influencers" section, where they put on their best designer/villain stare and dropped some insight bombs about inspiration, future products, and what it means to work with AI in the design landscape.

A children's playlab with DALL-E

Have you ever tried playing the telephone game with a group of young children, using AI-generated images instead of whispers to pass the message? Because we did, and it turned out all kinds of unexpected.

In early September we were invited by Ludosofici to organise a workshop with children at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, so we went there for a full day of fun activities with the little ones.

Matteo wrote a full article about the experience, you can read it here. Without revealing too much, there's a good amount of AI-generated play-doh sculptures and a few insights about how to approach AI activities with young children. Here's a quick preview:

Speaking at THE conference

Itโ€™s not just A conference, itโ€™s THE conference, a two-day event where curious minds delve into the promises and pitfalls of digital development and the human and machine relationship. Oh and itโ€™s also where Simone had his latest talk.
