Hope you’ve been enjoying the summer so far, especially the somewhat cooler temperatures these past few weeks.

We’re back on our regular First Wednesdays schedule, which means the August social is next week!

The August edition of the NYC Indie Games Social is next week on Wednesday, 8/5, at 7-10pm, indoors in the Madison Square region.

You may notice these socials are now labeled “private event” on Luma. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t share them publicly or invite pals freely! It just means that I’ve opted out of discovery on the platform, like that time we unwittingly got featured for New York Tech Week. New folks are always welcome—tell your friends!—but demand from our existing audience already maxxes out capacity almost immediately; no need to cast a wider net into the roiling seas of tech. (If you joined us via that route, welcome, glad you made it!)

Oh, and the NYC Indie Games webpage, along with the rest of my personal site, has been effectively down for a good long while now because of AI bot crawlers. This is clearly untenable, and I really need to get my sites off Notion. In the meantime, you may want to bookmark or subscribe to the NYC Indie Games Google calendar to look up upcoming events when the website is down.

This will likely be the last of the summer indoor socials under the new seasonal schedule—next time, keep an eye out for our first outdoor fall social in Brooklyn!
