But before I close, I have a rare personal note to share. I haven't had (or needed) a full-time job in many years, but in the course of this year, I happened to lose essentially all of my part-time gigs—including a previously sustaining long-term job outside of games and, more sadly, my teaching appointment at the NYU Game Center, part of a wave of adjunct job cuts I've been organizing against with our union.

So in the new year, I am regrouping by throwing my all into The Game Editors, my family freelance business I run along with my mother and my partner, Francisco. We soft-relaunched with a new name and branding earlier this year (thanks for all the logo ideas!), and now we're shouting it from the rooftops. (We even have pens!)

We do copyediting for games, story consulting, and full-service VO packages including casting, directing, and recording. I'm also open to custom engagements like talks, workshops, or private tutorials. If you or someone you know could use our services, we're actively seeking new clients, and referrals are very much appreciated.

NYC Indie Games has been life-changing for me through other big transitions. When I started hosting these socials, I had just been laid off from my first game studio job. It's where I met my first freelance client, many friends and colleagues—and of course, Francisco, on his first day in NYC. This wonderful community has brought me many good things, and I hope it does for you, too.
