Many tech experts predict that the virtual reality industry will grow to be a massive tech industry, becoming one of the largest in the world. The estimated market size is predicted to reach $44.7 billion by next year.
VR companies have been building their products more efficiently, using cheaper parts, but still displaying a substantially good quality. Newer models have been costing less than $300, and is expected to become even more cheaper, which will help the companies to start generating more revenues.
Since 5G was released, VR experts have expected that 5G will accelerate the development of VR applications available on mobile devices, enabling high-quality VR experiences on smartphones and tablets.
VR’s power to change reality into sweeping oceans, and peak-high mountains (or whatever else you please), is being channeled through the medical wing of life. The healthcare industry have been using Virtual Reality Technology to treat patients with severe anxiety, PTSD and other mental health disorders.
In an effort to give realistic simulations of real-life situations that may occur in jobs (specifically military jobs, firefighters, and medical professions), VR technology is being used to simulate real-life scenarios, preparing people with jobs that occur when something bad happens.
As well as situation-triggered jobs, architectural and real estate jobs are experimenting with VR to create virtual walkthroughs (and blueprints) of buildings and homes, to make sure the property is catered to the client’s need.
Not only does it help with indoor jobs, but outdoor as well. That’s right - sports athletes have been utilizing VR’s extensive simulation range, by providing new insights for training techniques and how to schedule training times, using the VR’s ability.
Of course, you’ve shopped online many times - but VR is offering a new way to shop online. In future, VR could be giving customers an immersive opportunity to shop online, allowing them to view products in close-up cameras, offering a new, interactive way of online shopping.
In driving tests, VR can be utilized by simulating driving scenarios, allowing potential future drivers to have a realistic experience, before actually hitting the road.
In conclusion, the future of VR is expected to include many more immersive features, advancements in haptic technology and eye-tracking, and possibly AI integration.
