Leafy fall has arrived, but it’s never too early to enjoy a winter treat.
S’mores are a beloved snack in the USA, incorporating the sweet graham cracker, gooey roasted marshmallow and melted milk chocolate. But, as time stretches on, things grow old and plain - that’s why NTS NEWS offers an exhilarating (and especially delicious) dive into America’s favorite snack, with tweaks and improvements to stretch this campfire necessity to infinity.
Reverse S’mores
Why not change it up and reverse the core principles of s’mores? Instead of making it a graham-cracker sandwich, it’s time for marshmallows to dominate. By getting an extra-large marshmallow, and cutting two thin circular slices of marshmallow, you’ve got your “bread” for the s’mores. Instead of a block of chocolate, try melting chocolate over a graham cracker and waiting for it to crystallize. As of then, your reverse s’mores are ready!
Mega-Marshmallow S’mores
Why not make marshmallows - everyone’s favorite component of a s’more - the centre piece of a s’more? By melting marshmallow and lacing it over the cookie, chocolate AND even the marshmallow (if your cravings for marshmallows are especially high), you can get the ultimate s’mores result. Guaranteed: RECIPE-TRIERS WILL SAY THE FOLLOWING: “S’more, please.”
Fruity Twist S’mores
Fruit-lovers out there, don’t despair - there’s even a s’mores remix for you. Along with a slab of melting chocolate, how about a few pieces of succulent fruit?
By heating up some thinly-cut strawberries, or even creating a blueberry jam (recipe in our Homemade Jam article), you can smother your marshmallow in fruity amazingness, rather than milk chocolate.
Caramel City S’mores
For all those who love the silky, velvety texture and the warm, nostalgic flavors that caramel has to offer, it’s time to connect that love with s’mores. Your mouth is probably already watering, so we’ll be quick. Basically, on both insides of the graham crackers, smother them in gooey caramel. Toast a marshmallow so it’s melt-in-your-mouth quality, and enjoy this succulent treat!
Potato Chip S’mores
Okay, then - tell me that sounds disgusting. Repulsive. Why would you add a potato chip to the already spectacular s’mores?
The answer is, the same reason as all of the other s’more remixes. It tastes and feels delicious. If you smother a potato chip in chocolate, add a marshmallow on top, and sandwich it between two sweetened graham crackers, the result is not only a delicious treat, but an immersive textural experience. You won’t actually taste the potato chip - only the texture from it will pop out. Enjoy a crunchy variation of s’mores when you add a potato chip!
