California. A place with rich, exotic foods, exciting traditions and home to some of the most famous landmarks. From the Golden Gate Bridge to Hollywood, California is a legendary, illustrious place.
POPULAR FOOD: DISHES THAT’LL MAKE YOUR MOUTH WATER IN AN INSTANT!
California is renowned for it’s iconic cuisine, particularly because it’s primarily freshly grown and authentic. Since California is a vast stretch of land, it’s also home to many large farms. With farms so close, most of California enjoys farm-to-table cuisine, in it’s vibrant scenery.
Across the state, different restaurants and other food companies offer delectable delicacies, forming one universe of diverse foods. In different areas of the state, different people like to enjoy different things.
For instance, in Southern California Mexican food has been known to be popular, with tacos, burritos and quesadillas all on the standard Southern Californian’s diet.

In San Francisco, a popular meal choice is seafood, with freshwater fish and saltwater lobsters served in many different restaurants. The Dungeness Crab is a local delicacy, enjoyed by hundreds of eager San Franciscans, and sometimes pursued by intrigued tourists. California also proudly distributes alcohol from some of the finest wineries, which are known to produce some of the best wines in the world.
CULTURES & TRADITIONS
As a conflation of cultures and traditions, California has millions of people from around the world calling it home. The non-Americans that settled in California influenced standard Californian culture and traditions with some routines originating from other countries. The cycle kept repeating, until California’s culture evolved from a boring, dull collection of foods and prayers from an amazing, phenomenal blend of rituals, delicacies and much more. The state is known to house a large Hispanic population (a person that is Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture of any culture or origin), especially in southern regions.
Even though it may be easy to assume that the festivals California widely celebrates are mostly American, it’s wrong. Mexican traditions, such as Cinco de Mayo and the Day of the Dead, are a very common celebration in California, with much of the population having roots tracing back to Mexico.
