ntietz.com blog: Weird git hash viz, and reading fiction
Hello and happy Friday! This week I published two blog posts.
The first, A few weird ways of displaying git hashes, does exactly what it says on the tin. I previewed it in last week's newsletter, and I hope you enjoy!
The second post just went up. It's about fiction as a lens into technological change. As technologists, we have an outsized impact on the world, and I think reading fiction is a great way to start asking the questions we need to ask in order to build technology in a responsible way. I don't have answers, but I sure do have questions.
On Monday, I'm going to post about the formatter I've been working on for my programming language Hurl. If you want a sneak peek, you can always take a look at the repo. I just got the formatter's tests passing yesterday! It's a pretty basic formatter, and I learned a lot in writing it.
I'm still working on a post on debugging. If anyone wants to read it ahead of time and give me feedback, just reply here and I'll share a document with you. I'm working out a way to do previews and feedback more gracefully in the future.
That's it! I hope you have a nice weekend!
