ntietz.com blog: "Throw away your first draft of your code"
Hello and happy Friday! Here's this week's post if you missed it: Throw away your first draft of your code. It's about what it says on the tin, and it's from my lived experience at work where we had some features which we prototyped (and tossed that code) and others where we went straight from design to implementation. One strategy worked better than the other!
Coming out on Monday is a post about hashes and a few ways I was playing around with displaying them. Here's one example that's going to be in the post:
Those are the 3 most recent commits from one of my repos!
Also in the queue are posts on debugging and on writing a code formatter, which is notoriously difficult. I'm taking some shortcuts since I get to pick the style, so I can pick a somewhat easier style, but it's still going to be a tough program to write.
I hope you have a nice weekend! There'll be a new post up on Monday, and the newsletter next Friday.
