ntietz.com blog: code formatter, what's good enough, and Copilot
Hello and happy Friday! Since the last newsletter went out, I decreased the cadence from weekly to monthly; if you have feedback on this change, please reply (or email me directly at me@ntietz.com) and let me know.
Since the last newsletter, I've put up 3 new posts:
Writing a basic code formatter: The programming language I'm working on, Hurl, now has a code formatter!
The phrase "good enough" isn't fit for purpose: This one's a little commentary on why the phrase "good enough" doesn't belong in our vocabulary, because it doesn't adequately capture what we mean, and how we should describe things instead.
Changing my relationship with GitHub Copilot: In this one, I talk about resetting my relationship with Copilot (and some of my other tools as well) and how I'm switching things up to make them work for my own spicy brain.
I hope you enjoy these! As always, let me know if you have any feedback. Topic requests are welcome.
Coming up in the queue, I'm probably going to be writing a little more about Hurl (the interpreter is next!), how I debug systems, and my ergonomic setup since a friend requested that one.
