My essay on Wayne Coyne and his 13 years at Long John Silver's grew from observing the positive relationship between my writing and service job and wondering whether that relationship might be causal, not just convenient.

In researching for this, I learned that "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots," The Flaming Lips’ most popular album, intentionally interpolated the beats and sounds of big pop artists like Timbaland and Nelly Furtado. So, the fact that it's my favorite album of theirs makes me a bit of a normie. C’est la vie.
