Servers in Restaurants Pt. III

This essay started because I see someone I know at my restaurant every week. I used to feel self-conscious saying hello to them, but I've grown to love giving a public, unexpected acknowledgment. I just had to reframe it as going Walter White: "I am the one who greets."

This essay is also very personal. 2020-21 had some low points for me, and I am so grateful to have family, in-laws, and childhood friends nearby. It's the best part of my life.
