Pride, Identity, and Accountability
Hello all!
It's the most rainbow-y month of the year, the month that brings us every institution on Earth trying to get queer people’s attention, whether it's Chipotle's "Homo estas?" burritos, or the US Marines' rainbow bullets (yes, these are both real examples).
All rainbow capitalism aside, I do love the way Pride month brings identity to the fore-- not in the sort of Girl Scout Badge string-of-adjectives sense, but in the sense of the intimate process of self discovery that leads to having a sense of identity, especially as a queer person. I do know some queer people who have been defiantly sure of their identities from birth, long before they had words to describe what they felt-- but for many of us, particularly if we grew up in less-than-supportive homes, knowing ourselves even internally requires quietly untangling many inner boxes of Christmas lights. Or, at least it did for me, even if the TikTok algorithm clocked me in about 12 seconds. RUDE!
That's why this Pride, I'm partnering with-- just kidding. But I do have some workshops coming up!
Values Based Decision-Making: Solo, and LIVE!
This month marks the return and REVAMP (!) of Values-Based Decision Making for Your Career! Here's what's new:
Previous iterations of this workshop have been scheduled on specified dates, but offered a "choose your own adventure" style option of taking it with or without the social support of other workshop participants.
However, some people (ME) sign up for things with the best of intentions to self-motivate, but do way better if we have some structure and social support-- so, during the week of June 27, I'm offering a LIVE version of Values Based Decision Making for Your Career!
This version of the workshop will meet in the evening from June27 to July 1, balancing live time between working through the workshop exercises and sharing back/discussing what we've found with each other (all facilitated by yours truly).
The Live journey is a great option for you if accountability helps you meet your goals and if discussion helps you think things through! Also: if you have previously taken this workshop with me, and would like to participate in the Live version, I will happily knock the cost of your previous workshop off your registration as a discount.
