Solar Eclipse this Monday!
This Monday, as you may already know, is a total solar eclipse over much of North America! This eclipse is super exciting because it passes over a lot of the continental US, including several major cities, meaning that millions of people will get a chance to see this otherwise hard-to-catch event! Chicago (my home base) is not in the path of totality, but I will be headed to Indianapolis to be part of the CBS Eclipse Special ("Total Eclipse of the Heartland", and yes they got permission from Bonnie Tyler to call it that). While I do have my own handy-dandy roadmaps for my personal projects, one thing beyond my planning abilities is eclipse travel logistics. We were previously going to be broadcasting from Dallas, but moved to Indy at the last minute, so the production folks have been moving mountains to find flights and accommodation because wowweeeee a lot of people want to see it happen!
If you're in the path of totality, I hope you are outside and ignoring your tv entirely-- BUT, if you aren't, I hope you still enjoy the partial eclipse but tune into CBS so you can see me get really excited about the sun on tv.
Also, don't look directly at the sun without proper eye protection. I wish I didn't have to say it but I do!
