CJW: I had a couple of ideas on what to write about this time around, but didn't have the mental bandwidth to spare. Who knew that a dayjob, editing a novella, reading and making notes for a theory podcast, and reading and making notes for this newsletter all at the same time would prove taxing on the grey matter.

So I decided to share this piece of flash fiction I wrote a couple of years back, inspired by the Tom Waits song Romeo is Bleeding. I always liked the story, but I was never sure about being able to publish it because I literally quote the song multiple times.
