This weekend in Norwalk: Juneteenth on the Town Green, Sheffield Island cruises, Revolutionary Roots at the Mansion

*Quick note: our last email went out blank thanks to a template bug on our end. Here's your weekend, fixed. Sorry about that.* Morning, Norwalk.

The Town Green carries the weekend. The 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration takes over the Green on Saturday with food, music, and a flag raising, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion opens its Revolutionary Roots exhibit for $5 mini-tours on Connecticut Open House Day, and the Seaport Association has its Sheffield Island lighthouse ferry running out of the SoNo dock. Plenty of reasons to stay in town.

Best for families this weekend: the Juneteenth Celebration on the Town Green (free, outdoor, all ages) and CT Open House Day at Lockwood-Mathews, where $5 mini-tours make a Gilded Age mansion an easy yes with kids.

Here's what's in this week's Pulse:

  • A free Juneteenth celebration on the Town Green
  • $5 Open House Day mini-tours of Revolutionary Roots at Lockwood-Mathews
  • The Sheffield Island lighthouse ferry out of SoNo
  • A classic-rock tribute night at Factory Underground
  • Sunday poetry at the library
