Greetings, beloved members of the North Star mailing list,

Spring has arrived and we have all felt the pull to cut our jeans into short shorts and mingle beneath the soft glow of the sun with friends who don’t think it’s weird when you say “time lord” or “I think that crow counts as an omen” 100 times in a conversation. So it is with great honor I write to inform you of The Heavens Below, an event happening the evening of May 30th for just this purpose!

Everyone knows North Star 2026 will offer short shorts and camaraderie in abundance (ticket sales open soon!). But perhaps you yearn for something sooner? And closer to Portland? Maybe your nervous system needs a one-night-only launch party as a warm-up? What if it were also a book release celebration for the illustrious Pallas K. Augustine, author of The IC: An Astrology of Coming Home? And accompanied by a performance from Queen of Swords, the musical project of astrologer and creative genius Aerin Fogel? What if many of your other favorite astrologers, mystics, and ritualists were also present? What if it doubled as a fundraiser for North Star? Perhaps you’ve gotten this far and find yourself thinking, “That all sounds great, but I’m still gonna be secretly bummed if it doesn’t take place at a pigeon sanctuary”. Do not panic! You are not alone!

We had the same thoughts. So did Pallas. Together, we’ve conspired to bring you The Heavens Below, sure to be the best astrology, magic, book release party at a pigeon sanctuary of 2026!
