North Bay Python gets official and joins Software Freedom Conservancy
Hello, Pythonistas!
Josh from the North Bay Python organizing team here with a tiny letter full of news. I’ll keep it as short and sweet as possible, because who really has time to read email?
For those of you that missed the announcement, North Bay Python 2017 is officially taking place the weekend of December 2-3 at The Mystic Theatre in Historic Downtown Petaluma. We'll begin accepting proposals for conference sessions on Monday, August 21 and tickets will go on sale mid-September. You can find more at our newly launched website: northbaypython.org.
Another important thing: as of today, North Bay Python is a member project of Software Freedom Conservancy. Conservancy is a public charity focused on ethical technology, home to over 40 member projects including PyPy, Selenium, and Twisted, company we are honored to be in. Some member projects run their own events, but North Bay Python is the first that is exclusively dedicated to running community conferences, a distinction that makes us proud.
And that's it! I could gush but I promised I'd keep this short. You can learn more in Conservancy's announcement.
Thanks,
Josh
PS. We're looking for sponsors to help us put on an affordable, inclusive, and accessible event for the Python development community. You can find our prospectus here. Please pass it on!
