19-20 June, 2027 – Save the date for North Bay Python!
Hello Pyfriends,
It’s been a few months (actually more than we’d have liked) since we celebrated North Bay Python 2026, and we’re finally ready to announce our 2027 dates:
North Bay Python 2027 will be held on June 19 and 20 at the Hotel Petaluma.
Yes, for our 10th anniversary year, we’re returning to Historic Downtown Petaluma, California for the first time since 2019.
Many of you are familiar with the Hotel from staying there during past conferences, but for everyone else, the hotel is a 1920s’s-era building, with lovingly restored public spaces. We’ll be hosting you in their ballroom, which we think meets the brief of unusual conference venues just fine.

Alas, we’re taking a break from our barn era for the time being: there’s a limited number of dates where the barn has a chance of being comfortable during the day, and for the moment, those weeks are full of PyCon US. April didn’t work out as well as we’d have liked.
Moving to a venue with better climate control means we can host you in the summer, when you can enjoy Petaluma’s excellent outdoor dining scene much later into the evenings, and during lunch time too!
The hotel itself has a nice outdoor courtyard (we found a nice collection of photos of the property here), is across the road from Penry Park, and is a comfortable half-mile walk from Petaluma Downtown SMART Station, with rail service to Sonoma and Marin counties, and timed connections to San Francisco!
We’re swapping catered lunches for much cheaper tickets – Hotel Petaluma is right on the doorstep of our main restaurant district.
We’re excited to be able to offer cheaper tickets, increase access to more people, and show you more of the town we love to call home. Fewer venue cats this year, but you can’t win ‘em all, can you?
Expect tickets to be on sale in the new year, and based on previous timelines, our call for proposals around March or so.
Expect an updated website… soon? It’ll feature more information about the location, including our detailed plans for ventilation and air quality given our move back indoors.
We’re excited to see you for North Bay Python #8 in our 10th anniversary year!
Until whenever our next email is,
—Chris and the North Bay Python team.
