NPSA EGM Tuesday 28th April 7.30pm
Notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Norfolk Punt Sailors Association
Tuesday 28th April 7.30pm - Water's Edge, Barton Turf, or Online via Google Meet - postal votes by email will be accepted by the Secretary if they are sent to norfolkpunt@gmail.com before 7:30pm the previous day.
Agenda:
A proposal to relax the restrictions on Hardchine Hull construction materials. Proposed by Rupert Redington, seconded by the HTC
With the Hardchine Mold nearing readiness for a new boat we've had inquiries about the possibility of building a Hardchine in carbon cloth, which is currently against the class rules.
We would like to convene an EGM to consider altering rule A 2.1. Hull to allow construction in materials previously considered exotic. (The reason for the EGM is to finalize this issue before a build begins - nobody wants to delay a new boat by 9 months while we wait for an AGM to come along).
We propose to alter A2.1. Hull to read:
"Hulls may be constructed from any material."
While considering this proposal please bear in mind the following:
We have a minimum wight rule in force for Hardchines. It would be unaffected.
We have a stipulated maximum weight of correctors (4.54kg). It would be unaffected.
I guess the association's job is to rule on whether something should be permitted, not if it is wise, or prudent 😉
We hope this single-issue agenda can be concluded swiftly and leave us all time for a nice chat.
